Prototype One

The first projection prototype is quite simple, using a digital display and a plastic panel to create holograms. As the brightness of the display is very limited, a dark environment is built using fabric and drawing boards. The drawbacks of this method is obviously the brightness limitation, as a dark environment is not ideal to create an illusion between the reality and the projections when the surroundings are barely seen. Moreover, the thickness of the reflecting panel is also brings a problem, as an unwanted image was created on the other side of the panel due to reflections. The effect of these disturbing images can be even more significant for a human-size structure as the transparent material to be used should be considered thicker to maintain structural integrity. When the panel is thicker, the image separation will be larger hence the double image will become more apparent.
